2018 Balmoral MLP Field Day - 2015 and 2016 Drop Results

2018 Balmoral MLP Field Day

On the 16th of February the Balmoral Merino Lifetime Productivity (MLP) Site Committee, and site hosts Tuloona Pastoral, put on an excellent display for their 2018 MLP Field Day. With 50 pens of ewes on display, the Field Day showcased 1300 progeny. Each pen displayed was the progeny group of one sire from a range of industry sires selected for their diversity. The day also included a comprehensive information session, including updates on the Merino Lifetime Productivity project, which was a highlight for the 140 attendees.

The Merino Lifetime Productivity project is evaluating lifetime Merino productivity and includes this site in Victoria along with another 4 sites across Australia. In a first for the MLP project, a unique Balmoral MLP Field Day booklet was created that packaged results in a range of formats including raw data, adjusted sire means plus breeding values and indexes. These results were explained on the day at the information session. The Field Day Results booklets for the 2015 and 2016 drops of progeny have now been released and can be downloaded now by clicking on the links below.
